End of the Year
At the end of a year and today the end of a decade it
is quite normal to take time to look back at the
last year or decade and evaluate how we are doing,
either good or bad. There is value in checking how we are
doing in life, but more importantly, as we stand at
the precipice of a new decade to thank God that
we have yet another Fresh Start.

Prayer
Prayer is the chief agency and activity where - by
men align themselves with God's purpose. Prayer
does not consist in battering the walls of
heaven for personal benefits or the success of our
plans. Rather it is the committing of ourselves
for the carrying out of His purposes. It is a
telephone call to headquaurers for orders. It is
not bending God's will to ours, but our will to
God's. In prayer, we tap vast reservoirs of spiritual
power whereby God can find fuller enterance into the
hearts of men.

The Birth of Jesus Luke 2:1-6
1About that time Caesar Augustus ordered a census to be taken throughout the Empire. 2This was the first census when Quirinius was governor of Syria. 3Everyone had to travel to his own ancestral hometown to be accounted for. 4So Joseph went from the Galilean town of Nazareth up to Bethlehem in Judah, David's town, for the census. As a descendant of David, he had to go there. 5He went with Mary, his fiancŽe, who was pregnant.

6While they were there, the time came for her to give birth. 7She gave birth to a son, her firstborn. She wrapped him in a blanket and laid him in a manger, because there was no room in the hostel.
